Reiki is a form of energy healing which originated in Japan in 1922. This gentle but powerful, non-intrusive method of laying-on-hands helps bring about a deep sense of relaxation, both triggers and supports the body’s natural healing abilities. Reiki works on all levels, through the physical, emotional and spiritual and can compliment any other form of medical treatment safely.
What does a treatment involve?
A treatment can be performed either sitting in a chair, or lying down on a couch, whichever is most comfortable. Wear something loose-fitting and comfortable. The practitioner can then place their hands directly on the body, or work just above it, whichever is most comfortable. Treatments generally last around an hour, and depending on the individual, one treatment may be enough, or an ongoing weekly or monthly treatment can be arranged.
